Floral Series: The Anatomy of a Prayer

“Where the petal meets the promise.”

This collection explores the vertical movement of faith. It is a visual map of our dialogue with God - starting from the “Word” (the foundational promise), at the base rising through the “Bloom” of our petition, and finally finding the “Wing” as the soul takes flight in the confidence of being heard.

Technical Note: The Texture of Truth

My floral works utilize a mixed-media approach to illustrate the dialogue of prayer. Starting with the firm foundation of God’s Word - literally decoupaged onto the canvas - layers of ink, acrylic and oil are applied to show the flourishing of His promises. This “anatomy of a prayer” reminds us that His faithfulness is not seasonal, but situational and everlasting.

The Foundation: Use of decoupaged scripture, specifically 1 John 5:14-15, serves as the literal and spiritual base of the work.

The Medium: A blend of Mixed Media and Oil Paint on stretched canvas allows for layers of transparency and light, illustrating how God’s promises unfold in our lives.

Symbolic Movement: Notice the transition from the structured text at the bottom to the organic, fluid beauty of the flowers above - representing the shift from reading a promise to experiencing its fulfilment.
